Of course there are going to be shades of SUNN O))) from the mighty Greg Anderson, but there is a different feel to The Lord that is quite pleasing. The addition of Petra Haden’s voice adds a haunting beauty to these songs that reminds me of “Monoliths and Dimensions,” which is among my favorite SUNN O))) albums. There is a devotional quality to these songs that give it a more spiritual feel, like a religious experience for your ears. Highly recommended.
